Avoid using any exfoliating products 3-5 days prior to your service. Avoid direct sun exposure. Do not schedule and other skin treatments scheduled prior to your microderm treatment.
If you've never had a microdermabrasion before, we recommend you visiting your local Vivo Skin Therapist for a free consultation. They will analyse your skin to detect any concerns you may have. After this assessment you will be told if you are a suitable candidate for Microdermabrasion. During this consultation, you will be able to ask your Skin Therapist any questions you have regarding the procedure. At this time your Skin Therapist will discuss what results you can expect to achieve with the recommended Microdermabrasion programme.

Microdermabrasion treatments are extremely safe and effective. It is normal to experience some tightness and redness of the skin and a swelling of sensitive skin around the eyes, but this usually fades in a few minutes or hours. Any redness, temporary flaking and mild discolouration will disappear after your treatment, and can be covered with a light layer of mineral makeup. We recommend a gentle cleanser and a SPF 50+ sunscreen needs to be applied as aftercare for all treatments.
FOR 24 HOURS POST TREATMENT
- No direct heat on the face
- No hot water, steam rooms, saunas
- Avoid application of heavy makeup
- Apply sunscreen and reapply it every 2 hours
- Cover your face from the sun
- Avoid exfoliating products
FOR 72 HOURS POST TREATMENT
- Keep applying sunscreen and reapply it every 2 hours
- Avoid exfoliating products
FOR YOU TO REMEMBER
- Do not pick at the skin! This can increase the risk of infection, pigment changes and scarring
Increase water intake to include at least 8 glasses - Wear Sun Protection and reapply every 2 hours (as per the post treatment application guidelines)
- Protect the treatment area with protective clothing such as hat, sunglasses and long sleeves when outdoors
- Not use wash cloths, or any other type of cloth on the treated area, instead, apply cleanser to clean hands and foam for application
